We have a great game to look forward to this Saturday between Tottenham and Southampton. An interesting game where Tottenham should take all the points but since it’s the first game of the season it can go either way. It will be interesting to see how Tottenham will line up after strengthening the team with a lot of new players this summer.

Tottenham only played three games in pre-season

Tottenham have only played three games this pre-season, which is quite few if you compare it with the remaining top six teams in the Premier League. It might not make any difference as long as coach Conte has got a feel for how he will line up and who will return from injuries and so on. Conte have proven time and time again that he is the right man in charge. One thing is certain and that is that Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min will play. What is uncertain is who will play up top along with them. Dejan Kulusevski had a great end of the season but with newcomer Richarlison coming in to the team they have plenty of options.

Also Ivan Perisic, Bissouma and Lenglet are three new players signed by Tottenham. Perisic is probably a player that Conte is very happy to have brought in as, in my opinion, he is one of the best wingbacks in the world with his work ethic and also the fact that he is “two-footed” gives him a great advantage on the wing.

Southampton have been looking weak

Southampton have had a tough pre-season where they only won one of the four games they played. They started with a loss against Leipzig, which was expected, they then tied against Austria Klagenfurt where they should have won. After that, they won against Monaco, which was impressive. They ended the pre-season with a loss against Villarreal. They’ve been facing good teams so the defeats might not matter as these pre-season games are more for getting into shape.

An away game to a contender like Tottenham will always be tough. Can Southampton start the season with an upset?

Betting tip of the day

We belive Tottenham will win this, but the odds for a single bet on Tottenham is not worth the punt. We’re looking for a parlay here. Tottenham to win and get over 5,5 corners feels like a great bet at +127 with FanDuel. Good luck!
